Laura’s place is the beating heart of Tumbarumba. It is many classes above anything else we could see at least in the town itself. Such nice people, so welcoming, nice food and coffee and a great ambience sitting under the trees in the front courtyard. We enjoyed breakfast, lunch and then coffee and takeaway mushroom frittata for lunch on day 2. Lucky we were moving on or we might have moved in. And there’s the rarity of a small cinema with a curated selection of films. Go there!

The best place in Tumbarumba ! It is a really chill and cozy place with the stove in the winter. We took a breakfast and we tasted the french toast and muffins and also hot chocolate, everything was really good Good quality, good price, good place, we love it !

Lots of parking options. Right next to a park and has outside plus inside seating. We went in on a cloudy day and sat down outside. Our server was incredible and kept checking on us. The food was honestly really good and reasonably priced. Would seriously recommend

Recently, a merry crew of 16 (adults and kids alike) escaped to Tumbarumba to breathe in the mountain air, tackle the local MTB trails, and sample a few well-earned ales. Entirely by chance, we stumbled upon Café Nest and their delightfully quirky little cinema. One hot afternoon the lovely staff (Lisa, Nat and Corrine) very kindly put on a bespoke film showing for us whilst also catering for our entire crew. With the relaxed atmosphere, incredible food, small town charm and amazing staff, this is hands down the best movie experience I've had. I couldn't recommend it highly enough.

Stopped here for lunch on the way through town. Various seating options in garden setting. Friendly and organised table service. Interesting menu. We both really enjoyed the Classic Steak Sambo (one with gluten free toast and potato wedges). Great coffee.

Review scoring: 3 as expected based on price, quality and reputation, ie as expected. 4 better than expected and 2 lower quality than expected. 5 absolutely outstanding in all respects against expectations; food quality and presentation, staff, decor and atmosphere. Great little find!!! Funky cafe, great staff and menu of local produce. Highly recommend this wonderful place. The lamb pie was succulent and tasty and served with amazing pickled peelings of golden beet on top green leaves. The cheese toasty was really great with cheddar and Brie with prosciutto Washed down with a glass of local wine….. really great and thank you to the wonderful information desk lady from QLD for the amazing information and recommendation. This town rocks in the high country. Its people are friendly, the town is lovely and there is great coffee and food…..
